Theater III- Course Schedule- Third Quarter:

Each class period will generally follow the following format:
Warm up (stretch, voice, and warm-up game) 5-8 minutes
Teacher Instruction time (6-10 minutes)
Student practice time/ Group work time (26-40 minutes)
Theater fun, Rehearsal Time, or- Catch up your grade time (20 minutes)

Note: These are the five main units of the class- Depending on when I can get live theater experiences, Unit 5 will move throughout the course.

Unit: 1- Technical Theater:
- Introduction to Tech Crew
- Light Board/ Lighting
- Sound Board/ Sound Tech
- Costuming
- Props
- Set
- Administration- Managment and Direction
Unit 2- Let's do a Play (Student Project)
- Audition Process from the Director's Point of View
- Choosing a Show
- Actors and Auditions
- Rehearsal Process
- Producing a Play
- Student One Acts
Unit 3- Writing Something Important
- Designing a Personal Script
- Writing something that has meaning
- Portraying Emotional Depth
- Breaking Boundaries in Your Acting
Unit 4- Let's Do a Play Part 2
- Show TBA (I will base this decision off of the students in the class)
- Traditional Rehearsal Schedule
- Character Development and Strengthening
- Live Performance
Unit 5- The Play's the Thing:
- Viewing Live Theater
- Critiquing Performance
- Writing a Theatrical Review (and having it mean something)
